Fire Houses, particularly those in NYC, understand the value and comfort of a teddy after so many of the firemen experienced Rescue and Recovery at St. Paul's after 9/11.

Firemen put bears on the trucks to be carried to house fires.

Fireman Bob Latzen, of the Roslyn, NY Volunteer Fire Dept. gathered his buddies and carried 6,000 teddies to children in the Bronx after 9/11.

His picture is below:

tn_ChurchtownFireDept.The Fire Chief had seen it....at Ground Zero and again with Katrina kids. Teddy bears made a big difference. So, when he got back to Churchtown he found who was giving out the bears and gave us a call.

Now all of the Churchtown trucks are well supplied!

The Naples Fire Dept. was given a round of bears. The chiefs are all being notified and we're working on a press release. Bears are being carried on the trucks and will be given out when the firemen respond to calls.

This was in the Naples Daily News.
