When children deal with loss it takes a lot of hugs and teddy bears help the helpers.  Counseling centers have many reasons to be first responders.  They often see children in crisis after family loss and welcome the assistance of a comforting teddy. We often use teddies when youngsters have a hard time talking about situations that are traumatic, and they invariably help.
